Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、2000年代以降の非大都市圏における小地域を単位とする外国人集住地区の形成と特性およびその変容について、地域人口の変動過程との関連から分析し、人口減少が加速する日本における外国人人口の動向とその影響をミクロレベルで把握することを目的とする。研究の方法として、人口の構成と分布の変化を属性別の人口動態要因に分解するための推計手法を応用した分析を行い、外国人の移動に関しては国際移動（主に国外からの移動）と国内移動の影響を峻別する手法を開発する。本研究の成果により、今後さらなる拡大が見込まれる外国人の影響を考慮した地域別の人口動向を見通すうえで有用な示唆を得ることが期待される。
