Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、日本政府の海外ボランティア事業であるJICA海外協力隊のコミュニティ開発のボランティアの活動に対する文化人類学の関与のあり方や、両者の協働をより良いものにして行く際の具体的な方途について明らかにすることを目的とする。JICA海外協力隊には100以上の多様な職種があり、コミュニティ開発はコミュニティの問題の改善や解決に関わる活動に取り組む職種である。国際協力活動に従事する支援者のうち、ボランティアなどの非専門家を対象とした本格的な文化人類学的研究は国内外において未だ希少である。この点で、本研究は国際的に先駆的なものであり、この分野の世界の研究を牽引するポテンシャルを有していると言える。
