Outline of Research at the Start

古代ローマにおける競売制度の実態および人々の法意識の法学への影響を解明する。そのために、前4世紀から後4世紀にかけての古代ローマ社会で展開された競売制度を、過去のある集団の行動の背景にある心性を解明しようとする「心性史」の手法を利用して、文献史料および非文献史料（碑文、蝋板文書等）の分析を基に解明し、競売制度とそれを支えた人々の法意識が、ローマ法学に与えた影響を測定する。本研究は、前回の科研費による国際研究会の開催を通じて構築された国際的な研究ネットワークを活用し、海外の研究者との協同を通じて世界の研究の発展に貢献することができる。
