Outline of Research at the Start	この研究は、アメリカ連邦最高裁判所の近年の変質を、歴史的・政治的・社会的な視点から分析するものである。2020年以降の連邦最高裁は極度に保守化して、かつての比較的リベラルな最高裁が積み重ねてきた先例を一方的に放棄しつつある。このような状況を、たんにトランプが無理を通して就任させた保守派の裁判官の数による横暴であると位置付けるのではなく、上述のような多様な視点から最高裁の変質を分析することによって、政治から独立した最高裁の存在意義や前提条件を理解することが可能となる。そこから見えてくるイメージは、1937年の「憲法革命」とも比較するべき最高裁と民主政治の危機である。
