Outline of Research at the Start	沖縄は第二次世界大戦末期に米軍が上陸し、その軍政下に入った。軍政府自体は昭和25（1950）年に廃止されたが、これに代わって設置された琉球列島米国民政府（USCAR）により昭和47（1972）年まで占領支配された。USCARの長官である歴代６名の高等弁務官は「沖縄の帝王」といわれるほど強い権限を有していた。一方で沖縄住民による自治組織も終戦直後から組織され、昭和27年（1952）年には行政主席・立法院・民裁判所の三権を備えた「琉球政府」が誕生した。本研究は、琉球政府時代の訴訟記録から、占領下の琉球政府による民裁判所がいかなる法に基づき、いかなる裁判を行ったのか、その実態を明らかにする。
