Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、数多い旧陸軍インテリジェンス・オフィサーのうち、戦前戦中期に果たした役割、戦後における実績と影響力、活動の舞台等を基準に、5人の人物（小野寺信、土居明夫、甲谷悦雄、辰巳栄一、藤原岩市）を典型的モデルとして選び、主な考察対象とする。まず戦前戦中期（1930～40年代）における彼らの動向をふまえた上で、戦後期（1945～1970年代半ばまで）の活動を精査し、帝国陸軍時代より培われたインテリジェンス活動が、戦後の日本、とくにインテリジェンス・コミュニティーにどのような影響を与えたのか、さらにいかなる点が継承され、また逆に継承されなかったのか、その連続性と非連続性を明らかにする。
