Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本による東欧諸国への民主化支援の詳細を、主役の日本、日本の支援を後押しした米英、そして関係する国際機関の史料から明らかにする。冷戦終結の過程で民主主義と市場経済を導入しようとしていた東欧諸国には、西欧諸国が中心となって多くの国際的支援が提供された。本研究は、日本がその少なくない部分を担い、非軍事的な手段によって冷戦終結という国際秩序の激変に関与していたことを示すことにつながる。
