Outline of Research at the Start

Significant preparatory research has already been carried out for this project. The PI has also explored questions that brought about this project in two recent publications. The PI also collaborates with the Co-I (Yamaguchi). Lamont’s recent work inspired this project as many of the norms that undergird international civil aviation are increasingly challenged by acts of state sponsored air piracy, multilateral sanctions regimes that are further fragmenting civil aviation industries along geopolitical fault lines, and challenges experienced by airlines and airport operators.
