Outline of Research at the Start

1980年代の日米安全保障協力の成果を背景として、湾岸危機・戦争の初動で日米間の政策協調は一定の成果を収めた。しかし、最終的に、米側は日本の対応を批判した。そこで本研究は、「日米関係では政策協議が制度化され認識がすり合わされていたにもかかわらず、湾岸危機・戦争においてなぜ日米の認識に齟齬が生じたのか」との問いに答えていく。
