Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では米国の時間利用データの分析を通じて移動能力の低さがもたらす時間的貧困が、経済機会・睡眠・余暇・本人及び子への人的資本投資・ケア労働のいずれの分野により多くの犠牲を強いるのかを明らかにする。自動車依存が進んだ社会において自家用車を自由に運転できない場合、人々は機会の損失もしくは交通時間の増大による時間予算の圧迫に直面する。本研究では、相対的貧困層、特に「子育てや介護などのケア労働負担のある世帯」に焦点を当て、経済的にも豊かでない世帯において、ケア提供者の自家用車運転機会の有無が本人及びケア享受者の時間利用や活動機会に与える影響を分析する。
