Outline of Research at the Start

これまでの装いをめぐる研究および身体社会学では、衣服を纏う身体、とりわけその主体性がどう働くかはほとんど注目されてこなかった。また、装い-自己に関する近年の自己解放語りやモナド的な考え方は、身体的自己の社会性と身体の主体性を無視・軽視する傾向がある。
本研究はこうした現状を踏まえ、衣料品店で客が衣服を選んで試着し、他者（店員・同伴者）と相互行為する場面の撮影データをビデオ・エスノグラフィーの手法で分析し、没意識的な水準を含む「装いの実態」を明らかにする。これにより、衣服-身体-他者が「変形」(deformation)の関係性にあること、また、そこに現れる、身体の主体性とその意義を解明する。
