Outline of Research at the Start	従来の健康寿命研究は主に健常者を対象とした調査や統計データの分析に基づいており，疾患や障害を持つ人々の主観的な健康観を十分に反映していなかった。そこで，これまで見過ごされてきた疾患を持つ人々の視点から健康寿命を捉え直し，国際的な比較を通じて，その理解を深化させるための調査研究を行う。日本とイギリスにおける疾患を持つ人々と持たない人々の健康寿命に対する認識の差異を定量的に明らかにし，両国の文化的・社会的背景を考慮した，より包括的で現代社会に即した健康寿命の新たな概念を提案することを目指す。
