Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本における子どもの貧困問題とその解決策の実践のルーツを解明し、その実践に内包された子どもの権利保障の内容を分析する歴史研究である。特に、岡山孤児院の養護実践を事例として解明、分析し、その社会的役割と歴史的意義を考察することを目的とする。つまり、子どもの貧困の中で最も困難な状況に置かれたのは、両親の永眠などの多様な原因で親を失い家族を失った孤児や貧児で、その後彼らは社会の最底辺で生きていかねばならなくなる。そのような彼らを収容(救済)したのが岡山孤児院で、同院では彼らの生活と教育を保障し、子どもの貧困問題の解決策を実践した。その内容を解明、分析し、社会的役割と歴史的意義を考察する。
