Outline of Research at the Start

テーラード・スーツ（男物仕立ての婦人用スーツ）は、イギリス由来の機能的で実用的な紳士服の仕立てで、19世紀後期に欧米の女性たちの間で人気を集めた。他方で、20世紀初頭のパリにおいて日常着として定着する際、女らしいデザインが必要とされた。
よって、本研究では、テーラード・スーツのデザインや着用場面に着目し、ジェンダー規範が服飾デザインに与える影響について具体的に考察する。そして、スーツスタイルにおいて「性のらしさ」が構築されていくジェンダー構造の複雑性を、さらには理想的な「女らしさ」の実態を明らかにして、スーツスタイルと女性の社会的地位向上の関係性について解明する。
