Outline of Research at the Start

明治後期から昭和期にかけて、仙台地方は常盤紺型染や印染など庶民の衣生活を支える布地を染める産地として栄えた。この染色技法は当時の大量染色技法ともいえる型染であった。その染色に使われた5,000枚近くの型紙デジタルデータ（ラスター画像）をベクター形式の画像に変換する際に、近年発展が著しいディープラーニング等のAIによる画像認識技術を応用することで、日本独特の繊細で躍動感のある文様を正確に、かつ容易に抽出し、画像形式変換できるプログラムの構築を目指す。
