Outline of Research at the Start

近年日本では、大学教育改革の一つの手法として、学生の地域貢献活動（サービス）を学習（ラーニング）に繋げる教育手法である「サービス・ラーニング」が注目されている。日本よりも早くその教育効果に着目して取り入れてきたのが東アジアである。本研究は、東アジアの大学のサービス・ラーニングの導入と展開の過程にみられる、大学や地域など様々なアクターによるサービス・ラーニングの意義や課題を巡る議論を分析対象とする。議論の分析を通して、東アジアの大学教育におけるサービス・ラーニングの位置づけや機能を明らかにする。その結果を踏まえ、国際比較の視点から、今日の日本のサービス・ラーニング論の展開における課題を指摘する。
