Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の課題は、世界的な教師不足の中でアラスカ大学が、先住民族が多く暮らしている辺境の地域で「地域に根ざした」教員養成プログラムを如何に遂行し、教師不足の解消とへき地・小規模校に定着する教師を輩出し教員研修を充実させているか、その条件を解明することである。とりわけ「高大接続」プログラムや「社会人の教員養成」プログラム、「先住民教師教育」プログラムなど、多様な教員養成プログラムを展開している。これらの取組は、先進国や途上国を含め各国の教員養成の課題としても類似しており、本研究は、それら課題の解明に貢献することができる。
