Outline of Research at the Start	昭和20ー50年代にかけて，広島県竹原市立賀茂川中学校を起点に展開した「自発協同学習」の歴史的意義と他校への影響を明らかにする。「自発協同学習」とは，新制中学校として発足以来，同校の信川実校長(当時)を中心に研究・実践された学習指導の実践理論であり方法である。本研究では，同校における実践の詳細を明らかにすることはもとより，その姉妹校を対象に，これまで必ずしも充分に解明されてこなかった各校への影響と具体的な実践を明らかにする。その際，単に自発協同学習の有効性のみならず，その衰退の経緯にも含め，優れた授業実践が学校の文化として定着する難しさも明らかにし，現代の授業実践・授業改善に係る示唆を得たい。
