Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、「試験の技術・技法」という目に見えやすい事項に焦点を当てて、近世の武士階級の間で「教育内容統制」や「文武奨励」などの目的で行われていた試験が、西洋で発達をみた「学力選抜」や「学習改善」を目的とした設計の試験とは違うものであることを示すとともに、日本では明治以降の試験が近世の影響を色濃く受けていたことを解明するものである。また、「試験の技術・技法」に着目して、異なる時代・地域の試験の特性を比較する枠組みを提案し、将来的に試験の実施環境や実施条件等を検討する国際比較研究を展開させるための準備をすることに寄与する。
