Outline of Research at the Start

20世紀前半のタイにおける子ども組織ルークスアが、地方に伝播した過程や、地方での具体的な活動内容を、王位継承、立憲革命などの政治体制の変化に着目して解明する。その際、仏領インドシナとの国境問題を抱え、タイ族の一派であるラーオ族（仏領インドシナのラオス地域にも居住）を国民として「タイ化」する必要のあったタイ東北部を対象に、ルークスアのナショナリズム教育の実態と為政者の思惑、活動に参加した子どもたちの受け止め方を解明する。本研究は、当時のルークスアの公文書や機関誌、年次報告書、経験者の言説を分析することで、ルークスアなど子ども組織におけるナショナリズム教育や地方史の研究の発展に貢献する。
