Outline of Research at the Start

日本教育における19世紀は、近世の個別教授から近代の一斉教授へと転換する世紀であった。19世紀末、すなわち明治20年代、学級一斉教授を行う場としての学校と教室の形成は、「勉強」する子供と「勉強」させる教員を誕生させたと把握できる。この状況とともに、「勉強」の近世的意味から近代的意味への変化について、日本と西洋の影響関係を視野におさめ、歴史的に検証する。近代を経て現代、こんにちの学校で当たり前に使う「勉強」が歴史的所産であることを明らかにし、その意味と問題点を析出したい。
