Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、成城小学校創立の1917(大正6)年から日中戦争開戦の1937(昭和12)年までの約20年間を対象とする。子どもの読書指導について、社会的な視点から構造的に明らかにする。学校教育だけではなく、広く社会の様々な人びとが関与することによって形成・蓄積される読書環境、さらには子ども向けの刊行物を総合し、「子どもの読書文化圏」として位置付ける。「子どもの読書文化圏」での教師や社会の様々な人びとによって実践される読書指導の理念と方法とを検証し、大正期・昭和初期の読書指導が後世に残した教育的遺産について明らかにし、教育実践の普遍性を構造的に分析する読書指導史として定位させる。
