Outline of Research at the Start

2020年度より小学校中学年から「外国語活動」が開始されたことにより、導入期における「英語絵本の読み聞かせ」指導が注目されている。しかし、英語絵本読み聞かせ中に小学生がどのように英語を理解しているのかを脳科学的見地から検証した研究はほとんどない。そこで、本研究では、小学生と大学生の言語理解に関与する脳部位の賦活状況の変化を比較検証することによって、小学生の未知語推測過程、および内容理解の過程、読み方の違いによる理解差を明らかにする。本研究により、英語絵本読み聞かせの中の小学生の脳内言語処理メカニズムが解明されれば、小学生に対する英語絵本の教材選定法や指導法に関する有益な教育的示唆が得られる。
