Outline of Research at the Start

戦前の沖縄には高等教育機関が存在せず、戦後になり初めて琉球大学、沖縄大学、国際大学の3大学が設置され、大学教員が着任した。これまでの研究では、戦前の帝国大学や本土の新制大学の大学教員に焦点が当てられ、戦後沖縄の大学教員の実態については未解明のままであった。
そこで本研究は、戦後沖縄の大学教員の実態とキャリアパスの構築について、その多様性をめぐる意義を実証的に明らかにする。具体的には、先述の3大学における大学教員の経歴を詳細に掘り起こすことで、戦前・戦後の歴史的連続性の中で帝国大学や本土の新制大学の卒業生、留学生がリクルートされ、多様なキャリアパスが構築されていたことを明示する。
