内視鏡治療は医師の技術的差が大きいことが問題となっており、その問題を克服するための確立されたトレーニングシステムなどはなく、熟練度は各個人の技量に依存しているのが現状である。本研究では、今まで暗黙知であった熟練者の「カン・コツ」や判断基準などのマニュアル化しにくいノウハウを標準化し、必要な手順や技量、習得すべき知識等技能の要素を「見える化（デジタル化）」した情報を搭載したAR技術を用いた画期的な内視鏡治療トレーニングシステムを開発することを目的とした。
