Outline of Research at the Start

ゲノム技術といった新興科学技術の日常生活への応用に対する社会・倫理・政策上の課題については、専門家と一般市民との間の共通認識が未だ十分に醸成されていない。本研究の目的は、新興科学技術に関する情報の文脈がどのように人々のリスク意識を喚起しうるのかという問題について、科学リテラシーとの関連において定量的に実証することにある。そのために、一般的な質問紙では十分に捉えきれない「漠然とした不安感」といった人間の感覚を測定し、統計的に数値化しうる実験を調査計画に導入する。この課題を遂行することによって、従来の理論モデルを包含しうる新たな科学コミュニケーション・モデルの創出をめざす。
