Outline of Research at the Start	現代社会において、離散構造の研究は欠かせない。たとえばコミュニティの粗密は、グラフを用いて解析できる。本研究ではこのような離散構造の統一的研究を目指す。たとえば符号の研究成果を格子やマトロイドへ一般化、あるいはその逆など、相互作用を及ぼしあいながらの有機的研究が目標である。
