Outline of Research at the Start

西南日本内帯の舞鶴帯は古アジア東縁にあった背弧海盆を含む地帯であり，その形成・収束過程の研究が進められている．本研究は，詳細な地質調査，微化石マッピングおよび砕屑性ジルコン年代学的検討に基づき，舞鶴帯南帯に伴われる堆積岩層やそれに関連した地層，ならびに当時，舞鶴帯に近接した地層の層序，堆積環境，年代，地質構造等の地質情報を明らかにし，当時の背弧海盆拡大の形成過程に迫ることを目的としている．
