Outline of Research at the Start

集光した太陽熱を使って植物のバイオマス資源から水素を製造する手法は、二酸化炭素を発生させないことから地球温暖化防止に対して大きな役割が期待できる。このようなシステムの実現に向けては、例えばバイオマス生産性が高い植物を用いることで、現状の環境負荷をあまり増大させないことが求められる。そこで、本研究ではサトウキビのようなバイオマス資源作物の生産性を考慮して、バイオマス資源を集光太陽熱による高温発生技術を利用して熱分解する方式の動作実証を通じて、バイオマス資源に適した材料を見出すとともに、太陽光の集光条件のコントロールにより適切な加熱プロセスを明らかにする。
