Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、地層処分における多重バリアシステム（岩盤とベントナイト緩衝材）の力学性能を超長期にわたって評価する解析手法を開発し、地層処分設計の照査技術として整備する。そのため、岩盤とベントナイト緩衝材との間で発生する超長期的な力学的相互作用を理解し、地層処分の安全性を長期にわたって確保するための予測システムを開発する。このシステムでは、建設から閉鎖後の期間を含めた処分施設の力学挙動を詳細に解析し、地層処分の技術的信頼性と公共の信頼を向上させることを目指す。
