Outline of Research at the Start	交通事業者の収益事業としてバス路線網が形成された都市自治体では，バスのサービス水準が交通事業者の経営環境に影響されやすい。近年では，都市自治体においても，バス路線の減便や休廃止が生じており，バスサービス水準を確保するために公共の関与を高めることが求められるが，運行費補助のほかに有効な方法論が示されていない。本研究は，都市自治体の基幹的なバスサービスが抱える課題を整理したうえで，バスの増便や運行間隔の平準化による利用増の可能性や，サービス水準向上を図るために採用され得る政策手法の受容性を検討することで，都市自治体のバスサービス水準向上に資する公的関与のあり方を提示することが目的である。
