Outline of Research at the Start

流域治水において，治水計画と都市計画の融合が肝要であるが，その展開は十分とは言えない。わが国の歴史を振り返ると，近世城下町にそれらが一体となった一つの達成があるのではないかと考えられる。そこで本研究では，令和2年7月豪雨で被災し，現在さまざまな復興事業が実施されている人吉市を対象として，「流域治水の展開と復興にとって必要な，治水対策と都市整備の一体性を近世城下町から探る」を問いとして，人吉市の都市形成史を治水性能の点から振り返り，その成果に基づき，復興事業を検証・統合を行う。
