Outline of Research at the Start

ドイツの芸術学校バウハウス(1919-1933)の研究において、初代校長ヴァルター・グロピウス期の構成主義の美学に基づく建築像と、2代目校長ハンネス・マイアー期科学的分析に基づく建築像は対比的に論じられる。そのためバウハウス関係者が無意識に共有していた総合芸術としての建築像を見逃しているように思われる。本研究ではグロピウスとマイアーが同時にバウハウスに在職した1927年にグロピウスが設計した「全体劇場」案に注目し、そこにグロピウス期バウハウスの最終到達点としての諸芸術を統合する建築の姿があった事を提示する。その成果をドイツにおける映像史・デザイン史・演劇史と関連づけ近代建築史上に位置づける。
