Outline of Research at the Start

単分子磁石とは、ナノスケールの単一分子が大きな磁気モーメント・磁気異方性を有し、遅い磁化反転が起こる物質群のことである。従来の単分子磁石は、複雑な有機分子の配位した錯体で実現され、磁化反転のメカニズムが不明瞭であることも多い。本研究では、シンプルな構造をもつ無機化合物に着目する。無機化合物系単分子磁石は、わずか数例しか報告されていない。中性子散乱法を駆使し、この珍しい磁性物質の磁気特性解明に挑む。
