Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、グラム陽性細菌におけて細胞形態維持に関与すると共に、様々な環境変化や化学物質などから細胞を守る機能に関与するグリセロ糖脂質やLTAと、それらの合成酵素が、細胞表層恒常性維持の中核となっていると予想し、①枯草菌細胞におけるLTA合成酵素と細胞壁生合成の鍵となる膜タンパク質の特異的な相互作用解析、②グリセロ糖脂質を含む人工膜系を組み込んだ無細胞タンパク合成系による当該膜タンパク質の機能解析、③グリセロ糖脂質欠損株における細胞表層変化の物理化学的解析、④グリセロ糖脂質合成酵素の立体構造解析を行うことにより、分子レベルでその機能を解明することを目標とする。
