Outline of Research at the Start

非アルコール性脂肪性肝疾患(NAFLD)の増悪因子の一つとしてコレステロール摂取過剰が知られている。また、血中から直接腸管腔にコレステロールを排泄する経路(TICE)が植物ステロール摂取により増強することが報告されている。本研究では、①肝臓のLXR活性化による脂肪肝促進を回避するため小腸特異的なLXRリガンドとなる植物ステロールを探索する。②小腸特異的なLXRリガンドとなる植物ステロールを含んだ食餌をベースとして、PPARαリガンドや選択的PPARα modulatorなどの併用投与によるTICEに及ぼす相加・相乗的な効果と高脂肪高コレステロール食誘発脂肪肝に対する抑制効果との関係を解明する。
