Outline of Research at the Start	ヒラタキクイムシ類はメス成虫が広葉樹の辺材や竹材の表面を大顎でかじって味見＝テイスティングしながら、テンプン量の多い箇所を選んで産卵することが知られる。そこで、メス成虫が産卵に必要なデンプンをカラダのどこで感じて産卵の適地と判断しているか、その味受容メカニズムを明らかにするとともに、ヒラタキクイムシ類が発する音・振動の役割を精査する。一連の成果を、産卵行動の撹乱による新たな木材害虫管理技術の開発に繋げる。
