本研究は，申請者が世界的にも優位性を有するヘミセルラーゼ研究の一環として位置づけられ，ミステリアスな活性を示す新規酵素の基質特異性の全容を解明することが目的である．糖加水分解酵素ファミリー115に分類される新規酵素の基質特異性のメカニズムを解明し，同ファミリーに分類される既知のα-グルクロニダーゼとの立体構造的な差異，基質特異性の差異を解明する．
