潮間帯に生息する巻貝ホソウミニナと同種に高頻度で寄生する二生吸虫、さらに二生吸虫の感染頻度がきわめて低い近縁種のウミニナを研究モデルとして、寄生虫の宿主特異性をめぐる理解の深化を目指す。
