Outline of Research at the Start

犬の体腔液貯留は小動物臨床の現場でしばしば遭遇する現象で、重要な原因の1つである腫瘍性疾患では腫瘍細胞が貯留液中に遊離することも多いことから、細胞診検査による腫瘍細胞の病理学的な検出が主な診断方法の1つになっているが、上皮性悪性腫瘍や中皮腫の腫瘍細胞は反応性の中皮細胞との形態による鑑別が困難な場合も多い。
体腔液の貯留が腫瘍性疾患に起因することを早期に検出することは、予後や治療方針を決定する上で重要である。
本研究では腫瘍性貯留液における異常なDNAメチル化を同定し、DNAのメチル化を用いた客観的な診断法を樹立することを目的としている。
