Outline of Research at the Start

細菌の鉄獲得能の評価は，PCRを含めた遺伝子検査が一般的に利用されているが，牛臨床を担う家畜診療所の検査室で実施できる検査ではない。本研究では，牛臨床現場でルーチンに実施される細菌の薬剤感受性試験と同じように，細菌の鉄獲得能を簡単に評価できる検査法の確立を目指している。本研究では，牛乳房炎由来Klebisiella pneumoniaeの鉄獲得能の評価において，遺伝子検査に匹敵する精度で，臨床レベルで利用可能な鉄欠乏培養検査に着目した。3年間の研究期間において，鉄欠乏培地における増殖率から，鉄獲得能の菌株間での違いを評価し，臨床症状発現と関連する鉄獲得能スコアリング法を確立する。
