Outline of Research at the Start

猫伝染性腹膜炎はネココロナウイルス（FCoV）を原因とするネコ科動物の致死性感染症である。ネコ科動物の中で絶滅の危険性が高いとされるチーターは猫伝染性腹膜炎に対する抵抗性が弱く、本病を発症した個体は100%死亡する。現在、チーターのFCoV（ChFCoV）に関する情報は非常に乏しく、イエネコFCoVの研究で得られた知見がChFCoVに外挿できるのか否かも不明である。本研究では、ChFCoVのウイルス学的性状を調べるため、ChFCoVの全ゲノム解析を行う。また、イエネコFCoVの病原性獲得に関わる遺伝子変異がChFCoVでも当てはまるのか否かを確認する。
