Outline of Research at the Start

ミニ染色体はサイズの小さな人工的な染色体を指す。ミニ染色体を遺伝子工学におけるベクターとして考えると、搭載できるDNAの長さや持続性の面からプラスミドベクターやBACベクターに対して大きな優位性を持つが、現状、作製や移植の困難さから汎用的に使用されるベクターとはなっていない。そこで申請者は新たなミニ染色体の作製法や移植法、そしてその応用的使用法を開発することで、ミニ染色体が抱える欠点を克服し、ミニ染色体の汎用的な利用を目指す。
