Outline of Research at the Start	グラム陰性細菌の外膜は非対称構造を形成しており、外的ストレスのバリアーの役割を担っている。この非対称構造を維持する機構は感染症治療法開発の標的として注目されている。Mlaタンパク質複合体が外膜から内膜へのリン脂質輸送を担うことで非対称構造の維持に関与しているが、その詳細な機構は不明である。本研究では、Mlaタンパク質複合体がどうやって外膜から内膜へリン脂質を輸送しているのかを明らかにすること、およびMlaタンパク質複合体を標的としたリン脂質輸送阻害剤の単離をめざす。本研究の遂行により、外膜の非対称構造形成機構の全貌解明に多大な貢献ができ、新規感染症治療法開発基盤の構築につながる。
