Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、紫外線などの光を、蛍光タンパク質や有機・無機発光分子により可視光へ変換し、光合成反応に活用する新しいエネルギー変換技術の開発を目的とする。発光分子を光合成光化学系複合体へ結合・近接配置させ、蛍光共鳴エネルギー移動を通じて光合成色素へ効率的にエネルギーを供給するシステムを構築する。これにより、従来の光合成が利用できなかった波長域の光エネルギーを活用し、極限環境や人工環境における光合成の効率向上と応用展開を目指す。
