Outline of Research at the Start

真核生物の細胞内膜交通において、小胞体(ER)とゴルジ体の間の輸送は分泌経路の最初のステップにあたり、細胞の生命維持に直結している。ゴルジ体の形態や細胞内での分布・ダイナミクスは生物種ごとに異なり、それによってER-ゴルジ体境界の様相も異なるが、研究代表者のこれまでの研究によって、生物種に関係なくER-ゴルジ体境界に特別な「中間区画」が存在することが明らかになってきた。本研究では、植物細胞を用いてこの「中間区画」のアイデンティティを明らかにすることで、種を超えて、普遍的な形で初期分泌経路において機能する膜区画の比較を可能にすることを目指す。
