Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、土壌小型節足動物の一群であるトビムシの発光種を材料に、土壌の生物種間相互作用における生物発光の役割を検証する。そのため、次の手順で研究を進める。(1)発光トビムシと関わる種(餌生物と捕食者）を特定する。(2)トビムシの光と同色の光(緑色)に反応する土壌生物を特定し、光による情報の受けてとなる生物を確認する。(3)発光の役割に関する仮説(捕食回避、脱皮阻害回避、脱皮同調)を、これらの生物を用いた実験で検証する。
