Outline of Research at the Start

アリ類のカスト多型（女王と働きアリ間の差）と性多型（オスとメスの差）の程度が種間で多様であることは以前からよく知られているが、実態は不明である。本研究では、広範な種群を対象に女王・働きアリ・オスのサイズ測定をおこない、カスト多型と性多型の実態を調査し、既存の系統解析結果を踏まえた上で、生態や行動、社会構造、交尾行動との関連を解析し、アリ類におけるカストと性の表現型多型の多様性とその関係、およびその意義を明らかにする
