Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では陸上温泉から取得した新種細菌の炭酸固定経路を同定する。本菌は始原的な系統の好熱性・嫌気性細菌で、既知の炭酸固定経路にかかわる遺伝子を欠いている。本菌の炭酸固定酵素の活性特性や遺伝子を明らかにするとともに、その炭酸固定経路の生物界・生態系における分布を解析し、地球環境の形成・維持における役割を考察する。
