Outline of Research at the Start	動物は天敵から身を守るために様々な戦略を用いており、ネズミ類ではフクロウの鳴き声による活動量の減少が実験的に示されている。しかし、フクロウが鳴くのは縄張り誇示や求愛が目的であり、必ずしもネズミに迫る脅威を意味しないため、ネズミはその音量や頻度に応じて脅威の程度を判断していると推察される。また、ネズミ類では自身の移動音を覆い隠す環境下での活動量増加が示唆されており、天敵の鳴き声を含む、周囲のあらゆる環境音に応じた捕食回避戦略を持つと考えられる。そこで本研究では、自動撮影カメラと録音機を用いて、環境音がネズミの行動に及ぼす影響を明らかにするとともに、その捕食回避効果について検証する。
